PATERSON CUP
FOURSOMES AT AKARANA , Members of the Akarana Golf Club competed on Saturday in a handicap matchDlay foursomes competition for a cup presented by the president. Dr. J. Aitken Paterson. The qualifying round was over 18 holes medal play, the best 10 pairs being drawn for the match-play series. Good teamwork on the part of W, R. "VVoolhouse and •T R. H Biss. playing from an 11 handicap, resulted in them returning the excellent net score of 71, which led the field and annexed the trophies attached to this honour. Shortt and H. J. Edmonds, 94, 22—72; j. E. Cashmore and L. L. Cashmore, 84, 11—73; G. Ashley and C. R. Taylor, 86. 13—73: H. Wiggins and L. O. Wrathall. 86. 13 —73; J. Shalfoon and T. Miller, 88, IS—73: G. Coltman and H. P. Cullen. Si, 7—74; C. S. M. Edwards and H. B. Ward, 89. 15—74: C. Jacobsen and P. G. F. Smith. 80. 5—75; M. H. Bush and F. Preston, 83, 8—75: H. W. Bennett and F. Bass, 91, 16—75; J. S. Taylor and T. Mitchell, 89, 14 —75; J. W. Coney and W. J. Lowe, 91. 16—75; C. S. Livingstone and S. Bryant, 83, R—77. Livingstone and Bryant and I. W. Houston and C. Shenkin tied for last place, the former pair winning on the count back over the last'nine hole-) The first Stableford bogey match played during the week-end was won by \V. J. S. Osborne with a card of 22, 14—36, The second Stableford bogey match resulted in ft tie between G. J. Rich, 24, 12—36, and G. Ashley, 25, 11—36
