FALSE PRETENCES
MOTOR-CYCLE DEALINGS MAN SENT TO PRISON [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] KAITAIA. Saturday In the Kaitaia Magistrate's Court James Ormsbv, alias Mita Ormsbv, appeared on two charges of false pretences and theft. The charges arose out of dealings in motor-cycles in the district. It was alleged that Orinsbv represented that he was the agent for an Auckland firm, and received deposit? for new motor-cycles and took old cycles as a trade-in for the new. It was also stated that he had already been sentenced to 15 months' imprisonment at a previous sitting of the Court on five charges arising out of the same dealings. Ormsby was convicted and sentenced to three months' imprisonment: with hard labour at Mount Eden gaol on charge, the term to be concurrent with the previous sentence.
