LATE MR. A. A. COWAN
FUNERAL AT ONEHUNGA Representatives of all sections of tho Auckland Rugby League attended the Church of the Assumption, Onehunga, yesterday morning, when Requiem Mass was celebrated for tho late Mr. Albert Askin Cowan. Mr. Cowan collapsed and died at Carlaw Park on Saturday, after the new Manukau senior team, which he founded, had won its match.
The celebrant was Father Hyde, who also conducted the service at Mangere Cemetery. There was a long cortege of 50 motor-cars. The pall-bearers were Messrs. 0. Love, A. Gault, S. Watene and G. Znnovich. Tho Manukau Football Club was represented by Mr. S. W. Houso, tho president and trustee, and Mr. A. Somervell, a co-trustee, who also represented tho Manukau Cruising Club, of which the late Mr. Cowan was a vice-president. Also present were Mr. G. Grey Campbell, chairman of the board of control of tho Auckland Rugby League, and Mr. E. J. Phclan, vico-chairman.
