MURDER CHARGE
EVIDENCE FOR THE DEFENCE LENGTHY CROSS-EXAMINATION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] DUNIiDIN, Thursday The trial of Hugh Urquhart Neil Gunn on a charge of murdering William Beattie at Waitepeka on February 22 was continued in tho Supremo Court to-day,< tho whole day being devoted to the evidence and the cross-exami-nation of witnesses for the defence. Accused himself was cross-examined by Mr. F. 13. Adams, Crown Prosecutor, for more than an hour and a-half, and was subsequently re-examined at length by Mr. C. J. L. White, for tho defence.
