CROQUET AT HOMES
THE EPSOM CLUB An At Home was given by tho president, Mrs. H. B. Jenkin, and members of tho Epsom Croquet Club on Tuesday, when opportunity was taken to present a travelling cushion to Mrs. Jenkin, who is retiring from office and leaving for Australia on holiday. Mrs. Jenkin briefly replied to tho good wishes expressed by Mrs. Malcolm, vice-president, on behalf of the members. Mrs. McGill, president of the Auckland Croquet Association, was presented with a bouquet of chrysanthemums and on behalf of her executive committee she expressed appreciation of the' hospitality accorded by the many clubs visited during the past season. Mr. R. J. Hamilton, vice-president of the New Zealand Croquet Council, spoke briefly of matters of interest to players. Reference was made by Mrs. Jenkin to the death of Mrs. Wm. Arey, a player of many years' standing and a member of the club. The lawns were filled by members, their friends and honorary members, and a full programme enjoyed. Prizes were won by "A," Mrs. A. H. Jones and Mrs. T. Chapman, "B," Mrs. S. Rabone and Mrs. H. Collins. GREY LYNN CLUB The members of the Grey Lynn Croquet Club spent an enjoyable day on Tuesday by having two sessions of progressive croquet. Following afternoon tea the president, Mrs. Curtis, presented the prizes for the day's games. She also congratulated the winners of the club competitions and presented trophies to the following:—A championship, Mrs. Trewheela; runner-up, Mrs. Moran; B championship, Mrs. McDonald; runner-up, Miss Davis; A championship doubles, Mrs. Moran and Mrs. Faulder; B championship doubles, Mrs. Person and Mrs. McMahon; handicap doubles, Mrs. Faulder and Miss Davis; runners-up, Mrs. Curtis and Mrs. Person.
