WAIKATO HUNT

OPENING MEET HELD GOOD SPORT OBTAINED [from our own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, "Wednesday A large field enjoyed excellent sport at the opening meet of the Waikato Hunt held at Fencourt yesterday afternoon. Ideal conditions prevailed and hounds ran well. Although there were Beveral good runs, no kills were registered, and an abundance of harts tended to divide the pack. The hunt led through the properties of the master, Mr. "Wynn Brown, and Messrs. \V. Brown, T. P. H'unt, W. Harbutt, M. T. Phillips "W. S. "Wallace, J. "W. Johnson and R. Swayne. Among the 60 mounts in the field were some of the best hunters in the "Waikato, and inuch excellent jumping was seen. Members and friends were entertained at afternoon tea at the master's residence after the final run. ROTORUA AND BAY OF PLENTY MAI FIXTURES ARRANGED [by telegraph—own correspondent] ROTORUA, Wednesday Following the opening: of the hunt at Rotorua last Saturday the following fixtures have been arranged by the Rotorua and Bay of Plenty Hunt for the present month:—May 9; at Ngongotaha; May 13. at Te Puke; May 16, at Kotorua; May 20, at Tauranga; May 23, at Ngongotaha; May 23, at Te Puke.
