SERVICE TO BOXING

Recognition of 21 years of valuable service was made at the annual meeting of the Auckland Boxing Association iast night, when Mr. W. Dervan, an ' outstanding personality in Auckland and Dominion boxing, was elected a life member. In paying a tribute to Mr. * Dervan's capabilities as an announcer—a role in which he was best known to the sporting public—Mr. G. Bush, paafc president of the association, said he had* yet to meet a more capable one.
