! I THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE AUSTRALIAN GLASS ADVANCE . Business was restricted in the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. There was only an irregular inquiry. However, values generally were steady and several rises were recorded. There were few sellers of Government loans and in the only transfer the 1949, 4 per cent bonds showed no alteration at £lO3. The banking section was quiet and no sales were reported. In insurances New Zealands moved up (3d to 61s 6d. and more were available at the close of business. South British were linn at late rates and a current level sale was put through at yis 6d. Industrials again supplied the chief interest in a quiet market. Following oil rises on the Australian exchanges and rhc intimation of an early announcement ■ benefiting shareholders. Australian Glass were a further 2d 'higher at 90s, at which price two transactions resulted, with more offering. New Zealand Breweries revealed weakness and a sale at 525. which ivas 3d lower than the previous transaction, was followed by a further transfer, again 3d lower, at 51s 9d. Levels for Broken Hill Proprietary and G. J. Coles were both lifted 3d to sell at 61s and 73s 3d respectively. K.D.V. Boxes, contributing, continued to recover, gaining a further 3d to 4* 3d. Current prices were realised for iColonial Sugars, Wilsons Cement and New Zealand Drug.
