AUCKLAND MOTOR TRADE CRIPPLED CHILDREN'S FUND The Auckland Crippled Children's Fund will benefit considerably from the proceeds of a ball held last night by members of the Auckland motor trade in the Peter Pan Cabaret. Thronged with enthusiastic dancers the ballroom was most effectively decorated with a network of multi-coloured streamers, which formed a canopy over the dance floor. The canopy was filled with bril-liantly-coloured balloons, which later were released and distributed to the guests. In the supper room the tables were arranged with fragrant winter flowers and maidenhair fern, while the corners were massed with nikau palms and ferns. Adding considerable to the evening's enjoyment were exhibitions of tap dancing given by Miss G. McNaughton and Miss B. Sharpe. The ball committee comprised:—Mrs. R. M. Grierson, who wore a frock of black taffeta under a white fur wrap; Mrs. R. G. Tappenden, in midnight blue crepe with a beaded tunic; Mrs. A. Davie, ivory faille and silver lame; Mrs. W. King, cameo pink Chantilly lace; Mrs. Leonard Chirm, ivory crepe trimmed with fox fur; Mrs. R. McCrystal, japonica pink suede; Miss Jessie Parker, Gloucester green satin beaute; Miss Yvonne Wayte, mulberry velvet and silver lame. Messrs. R. M. Grierson, W. King, R. M. Hooper, A. Davie, A. Ryland, N. Bonham, L. Chirm and I. Andrews. Among those present were: —Mrs. J. W. Cowley, who wore jubilee blue silver-threaded metalasse; Mrs. Max Colebrook, in cerise brocaded taffeta; Mrs. Arthur Roberts, mulberry and gold corded faille; Mrs. R. B. Wilson, black and rose brocade; Mrs. D. L. Arrowsmith, blue and white patterned taffeta; Mrs. Guy Chapman, Gloucester green satin; Mrs. D. 6. Hendry, ivory and cherry patterned georgette; Mrs. J. R.
