WHAKATANE STREETS
WORK OF IMPROVEMENT [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE. Tuesday The Whakatano Borough Council's street improvement programme for this season has made good progress so far. Tar-sealing has been completed upon Louvain, George and McAlistor Streets, while Commerce Street has been widened. The footpaths leading to tho hospital are receiving a heavy grouting, and plans are scheduled for concreting other paths in tho near future. The Strand and main footpaths will also receive a bitumen topdressing.
