RADIO LICENCE FIGURES
TOTAL OVER 190,000 INCREASE IN PAST YEAR An increase of 39,357 in the number of radio receiving licences issued at March 31, compared with the figure at the same date in 1935, is shown in returns compiled for the HER* I,O by the Post and Telegraph Department. At the end of last March the total was 191,846, as against 152,4fca at March 31, 1935. The number of receiving licences at the end of March this year was mado up as follows: —Auckland, 60,1W, Wellington, 71,041; Canterbury, 34,471; Otago, 26,140. The grand total of all tvpes of licences at March 31 this year was 194,482, compared with 154,9*5 * year earlier.
