Mr. S. I. Crookes left for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. W. A. Boucher left for the South by the limited express last evening. The Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour was a passenger for the South by last evening's limited express. Mr. 11. Sinclair, of Waimate, returned from a holiday visit to Australia by the Aorangi yesterday. Mr. E. W. Worthington has been ap. pointed assistant land registrar and examiner of titles for Auckland. Mr. W. Bromley, deputy-chairman of the Unemployment Board, is visiting Auckland and is at the Station Hotel. Mr. J. A. Lee, Parliamentary UnderSecretary to the Prime Minister, left for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. A. Grayson, president of the Automobile Association (Auckland) left for Wellington by train last evening. Mr. W. F. Bissett, advertising manager of the Southland Times, returned from a visit to Australia .by the Aorangi yesterday. Commander C. B. Tinley and Mrs.' Tinley, who arrived from England last week by the Tamaroa, are at Hotel Mon Desir, Takapuna. Messrs. F. W. Schramm, W. P. Endean, A. S. Richards, A. G. Hultquist and W. J. Lyon. M.P.'s, left for Wellington by train last evening. \ Mr. C- Arnott, a prominent Sydney solicitor, and Mrs. Arnott, arrived hy the Aorangi yesterday, en route to England on a holiday visit.v The Rev. Father P. J. Fitzpatriek, who was until recently stationed at Coromandel, will leave by the Mariposa for San Francisco on Saturday. Mr. N. C. Barstow, of Auckland, will leave by the Aorangi to-day en route to Japan to assume the management of the South British Insurance Company's Tokio branch. Mr. N. S. Falla, chairman of direetors of the Union Steam Ship Company, Limited, arrived in Auckland yesterday and is at the Grand Hotel *Ha will leave for the South again this evening. Mr. A. Arthur, president of the New Zealand Railways Superannuation Organisation. accompanied by Mr. W. Thomson, secretary, left for "Wellington yesterday to attend the annual conference. Mr. G. W. Lawson, the new commercial agent of the Railways Department at Auckland, will , arrive to-day, and Mr. W. Craig, whose place he is taking, will leave shortly for Greymouth. Sir. F B. Spencer, managing-director of the Nestle and Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Company (Australasia), Limited, arrived from" Sydney by the Aorangi yesterday on a business visit. He is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. L. C. Gamage, a director of the General Electric Company, of England, who has been on a month's businesg visit to New Zealand, will leave by the Aorangi for Vancouver to-day. He will be accompanied by his wife, the Hon. Mrs. Gamage. Mr. G. Archey, director of the Auckland War Memorial Museum, and Mr. J- Barr, city librarian, left by . the limited express last evening. They Will join the Makura to attend a conference of museum and art gallery directors of Australia and New Zealand at Melbourne. The Rt. Rev. W. H. Baddeley, Bishop of Melanesia, who has been visiting England, will arrive at Auckland on June 8 by the Aorangi from Vancouver. The bishop, who will be accompanied by Mrs. Baddeley, will spend a few days in New Zealand before going on to Sydney. Captain G. A. Prosser will leave by the Aorangi for Vancouver to-day en route to England to bring out the new motor-ship Matua. which is being built for the Islands fruit trade. Captain Prosser, who will have permanent command of the Matua, formerly was in charge of the Waimariuo. Mr. G. Bruce Smith, general manager for Australia and New Zealand for the Australian Provincial Assurance Association, Limited, arrived from Sydney by the Aorangi yesterday on business connected with the opening of the companj 's New Zealand head office building, which is just being completed in Wellington.
