Mrs. Basham, who presided, was elected president and Mrs. Percival chairwoman of the branch. Various suggestions concerning the activities for the year were received for the committee's consideration. A gardening afternon was recently held by the ladies of the Shackleton Road I3aptist Church. The president, Mrs. Duncomb, conducted a short devotional service, after which Mrs. L. Honeycombe read an extract from "The Flower Patch Among the Hills." The roll call was answered with gardening hints. The thought for the month was given by Mrs. Ramsay. Competitions were won by Mesdames Archer and Martin, and vocal duets were sung by Mesdames. Metcalf and Duncomb. Afternoon tea concluded a pleasant gathering. Plants, cuttings and seeds Were exchanged among those present.
