THE FARM WORKER

Six-, —As a farmer's wife of 40 years' standing 1 am disgusted at the letters that appear with reference to the treatment of men on farms. Our men have a good room with a fireplace, electric light and good mattresses on their beds, white sheets, changed every week. Their clothes are washed and mended and socks darned, and there are concrete paths to their room. They sit at our table, and have, of course, the same food. We pay good wages and each man has two weeks' holiday a year on full pay and all public holidays except for the milking. If any of them wish to be let off a milking, one of us goes to the shed and takes his place. One man has been with us nearly seven years and another for five years. Farmer's Wife.
