STATE. DEPOSITS HIGHER FALL IN BANKS' HOLDINGS INCREASE IN EXCHANGE [BY TELEGRAI7H —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] ' WELLINGTON, Thursday The Reserve Bank return for the week ended April 20 was gazetted tonight. The statement is balanced at £28,893,543 or £121,046 more than at the close of the previous week. A'fall of £49,547 in the level of the note issue indicates that the extra demand during the Easter holiday season has now ended. Government deposits have increased by £267,342, while those of the trading banks have fallen by £84,547. Other demand liabilities are down by £14,921. Every item of the assets except gold has increased, but the only movement of any size is a rise of £99,851 in the value of the sterling exchange held. DAIRY PRODUCTION NORTHERN WAIROA OUTPUT [BY TELEGRArH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] DARGAVILLE, Thursday The amount of butter manufactured by tho Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, in March was 327 tons, as against 354 tons in tho corresponding month Inst year. Tho production for the season to March 31 is 2812 tons, a decrease of 310 tons as compared with tho similar period last season. Tho amount distributed for March was £22,330 15s 9d. A comparison of amounts distributed- to March 31 as against the similar period of last season shows an increase for this year of £32,633 12s 3d.
