INITIAL CONCERT
AUCKLAND DORIAN CHOIR Under the direction of Mr. Albert .Bryant, tho recently-formed Auckland Dorian Choir, consisting wholly of trained singers, will give its inital concert at tho Town Hall concert chamber on May 14. The principal work on the programme will bo Rossini's " Stabat Mator," an attractive and melodious work consisting of solos, duets, quartettes and choruses. The soloists will be Miss Winifred Hill (first soprano), Miss Phyllis Tye (second soprano), Mr. Leslie Russell (tenor), and fl&r. Robert Simmers (bass). The quartette will comprise Miss Gwenda Weir, Mrs. C. I'\ do berg, Mr. 15. Robins and J. JJree. Tho Vincent Aspey stringed quartette, with Mrs. R. Reid at the piano, will accompany tho work. The second part of the programme will include items by the stringed quartette, and the following part-songs:—" Go, Song of Mine " (Elgar), " The Lee Shore " (Coleridge Taylor), and " Moonlight " (Faning). The choir has been advised by the Mayor, Mr. Ernest Davis, of his consent to act as patron. The president is Dr. do Clive Lowe
