MORRINSVILLE DANCES
The Waitoa Oddfellows Lodges' annual ball attracted a very large attendance to the Waitoa Hall. Tree ferns and palms were used in an attractive decorative scheme. Music was provided by an orchestra and extras were played by Mr. S. Davis on the pianoaccordeon, and by Mr. Scott. A feature of the evening was the crooning of Miss Alona Hyde, of Hamilton. The Mangateparu Hockey Club held the first of a series of winter dances in the Mangateparu Hall recently. A bus from Morrinsville brought a large number of dancers. Mis§ N. Kerr played extras. Mesdames 11. Oliver and P. K. Brightwell were in charge of the supper room. The Civic Theatre, Morrinsville, was filled with about 400 dancers when an Easter carnival ball, organised by Mr. C. Cresswell, was held. A fox-trot competition, judged by Miss It. Murray, of Hamilton, was won by Mr. A. Tordoff, of Eureka, and Miss N. Barker, of Waharoa Mrs. D. I). Deiuly has returned to Tauranga after visiting Mrs. E. W. Harden, Morrinsville. Miss Cliff, who has been on the relieving staff of the Morrinsville District High School, has returned to Hamilton. Mrs. W. Butler, of Thames Street, has returned to Morrinsville from a visit to Masterton.
