FIRST ANNUAL DANCE
AUCKLAND SMALL TRADERS The first annual dance of the Auckland Small Traders' Association was held in the Masonic Hall, Belgium Street, last night and was attended by a large number of guests. Streamers of varying shades suspended in the form of a canopy from tho ceiling, made an effective and colourful decorative setting. The stage, where the orchestra was stationed, was banked with tubs of foliage and palms. Modern and old-time dances were included in the.programme and added considerably to the evening's enjoyment. Prizes consisting of pocket wallets, boxes of chocolates and torches, which had been donated by the various merchants in the city, were presented to the winners of the novelty dances. The dance committee comprised Miss N. Green, Messrs. A. E. Livingston. A. J. Nathan, Smith, A. J. Jordon, F. Wallace, A. Proud, D. Colquhoun. Among those present were: —Mrs. A. E. Livingston, Mrs. A. J. Nathan, Mrs. A. J. Jordon, Mrs. J. Hill, Mrs. G. E. Rose, Mrs. P. Atkinson, Mrs. H. Gaughan, Mrs. E. Jackson, Mrs. M. E. King, Miss D. Filmer, Miss A. Gubb, Miss P. Wensor, Miss Edith Rose, Miss C. Armiger." Miss L. Gallotte, Miss M. Falknor, Miss G. Gallotte, Miss M. Andrew. Miss P. Sneller, Miss June Dowden, Miss Grace Chuck, Miss Amy Stocker, Miss E. Browne, Miss M. Fagnn, Miss K. Jackson, Miss T. Thomson, Miss G. Flynn and Miss M. Spavin.
