SPEED OF LORRIES
PROPOSAL IN TASMANIA LICENSING BICYCLE RIDERS The Premier of Tasmania, Mr. A. G. Ogilvie, has announced that the Government has under consideration the framing of a regulation under which dri\ers of motor-lorries would bo required to have governors attached to their vehicles, which would limit their speed to 30 miles aa hour. The question has arisen as a result of many complaints by motorists of tho dangerous way in which lorries aro driven. Steps may also be taken to license riders of pedal bicycles, so that careless riders may be deprived of their licences. Experience over more than three months has shown that the regulation minimising the use of motor horns has proved a great success.
