j HE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE INDUSTRIAL ISSUES ACTIVE Upward movements predominated in a fairly steady volume of business in the investment market on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Bt.siness was pract/cally monopolised by industrial shares and those of a nuniier of leading companies registered substantial gains. There was steady inquiry around late rates for Government loans. Bank;, too, showed only slight variations. Unions were secured unaltered at £9 16s. A rise of 3d took place in Taupiri Coals on sale at 17s 3d and laupo Totara Timbers wero lifted Is 3d in business at 9s 6d. There was dealing in Northern Steams and Mosgiol Wools {it unchanged levels. Breweries generally were firm and New Zcalancls improved 3d to change hands at 52s 3d. Miscellaneous industrials were freely dealt in and only in one instance did values move unfavourably. By: Tofts, with a gain of 4s since the last business, were taken at 455, and Woolworths (X.Z.) advanced 7s 6d on sale at £5 los. Wilsons Cements were also definitely firmer and had sale Is deafer at 435. Consolidated Bricks and Farmers' Tradings advanced Id and Morris Hedstroms moved up 2d. Two parcels of Claude Neons (N.Z.) were released. 6d cheaper at 425.
