RECENT ACCESSIONS The acquisition of choice pieces of old English china was reported at this week's meeting of the council of the Auckland Institute and Museum by Mr. C. R. Ford. Several Chelsea and Worcester pieces of undoubted authenticity and from good factories had been purchased at an auction sale, he said. Altogether 44 accessions were received during the month, reported tho director, Mr. Gilbert Archey. These included an old grandfather clock presented by Miss S. Campbell, while Mr. E. E. Vailo had given a bird of paradise, a blue-tongued Australian lizard and a platypus. Other gifts included Rus-. sian church ikons, from Surgeon-Com-mander Buddie, and additions to the Moriori collection, from Mr. A. S. O'Neill.
