THEFT BY MAORI
[by telegraph—OWN correspondent] OPOTIKI, Thursday At the Opotiki Magistrate's Court before justices, Haupiri Tipiwai pleaded guilty to breaking and entering the dwelling of Agnes Forbes, widow, with intent to commit a crime and also to stealing goods the property of Mrs. Forbes to the value of £3. Accused made a statement to the police admitting breaking into the dwelling and stealing the goods. Accused said he knew that Mrs. Forbes was away arid as ho wanted to get away from Opotiki he thought he might find some money in the hous« to help" him get away. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
