TRADE FROM GALATEA
CONCERN AT WHAKATANE ROAD TO BE IMPROVED [BY telegraph OWN correspondent) WHAKATANE, Thursday It was stated at a meeting of the Whakatane County Council this week that Galatea was becoming settled and the bad state of the road in the Whakatane County should be remedied, as the road in the llotorua County was tempting the Galatea settlers to trade in Rotorua. Originally Whakatane received this trade. It was decided that the matter of improving the surface and widening the road be attended to immediately.
