WOOL SALE AT TIMARU
SMALL CATALOGUE OFFERED COMPETITION FOR GOOD SORTS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] TIMARU. Thuraday The third and final wool sale of the season wan held yesterday, when a catalogue comprising 2397 bales was offered. The bench, of buyers was only half the usual size, but representatives were present of the Continent, Bradford and the Dominion mills, and local speculators. At no stage of the sale was the bidding animated, but competition was good for better-class wools at prices which were on a par with those at recent Christchurch sales. Low-grade pieces and fleeces were more or less neglected, and prices showed a drop of Id on the last Timaru sale. The percentage of passings was fairly high.
