FAREWELL SOCIAL
FUNCTION AT OTAHUHU A social evening to farewell Mr. and Mrs. J. O'Hara, of Otahuhu, on the occasion of their departure to take up their residence at Wellington, was held in the Passenger Transport social clubrooms on Monday. Mr. O'Hara, who has been on the engineering staff of the Passenger Transport Company for the last eight years, is leaving to take up an appointment in the South. The rooms were most attractively decorated, and a large gathering of staff members and friends foregathered. An excellent dance programme, enlivened by competition numbers, was presented. ' During the evening the manaeer, Mr.\ N. Kirkham, presented Mr. O'Hara with a mantel clock on behalf of the club members. In referring to the happy relations which had existed between tho guest and staff members, Mr. Kirkham said their regrets were lightened by the knowledge that a former colleague had won another step forward in his career. An enjoyable programme concluded with supper served by the ladies' committee.
