PROGRESS WITH SCHEME WORK ON RETICULATION [by telegraph —OWN correspondent! PAPAROA, Wednesday Following the loan authoritv for £296,000 conferred by the recent poll of ratepayers, the North Auckland Electric-Power Board is proceeding with the survey and construction work and it is hoped to have the power service through ap far as Dargaville by the end,of the year. The main line traverses the districts northward from Hender-. son. . , A sub-station will be established at Wairere, a lew miles north of Paparoa, from which the main feeder line travels westward, passing close t Paparoa township and through Alatakohe to the Ruawai Flats. The line then divides, one branch traversing the lluawai township %nd proceeding toward Naumai, and the other alone the rear of Ruawai and through Rehia ana Arapohue to the Dargaville transformer station. . In the past few weeks the suney and pole construction has been m progress, including the survey of the mam power line to Wairere. A pole construction gang has been at work at J aparoa and over 200 poles have been manufactured. Erection of the is P r0 * ceeding on the feeder line to Northern Wairoa. In addition to the concrete poles 600 hardwood poles have been imported from-Australia and are being distributed by barges to various parts of the route. , The North Auckland Power Board district embraces Otamatea County, Hobson County. Dargaville BorOUgn. Whangarei County and the Hikurangi Town Board areas
