INTRUDER IN BEDROOM
ALAFJM FOR HOUSEHOLD WHAT A SEARCH REVEALED The daughter of a storekeeper at Liverpool, New South Wales, returning from a dance early in the morning, hul an alarming experience, as the result of which she had to be treated for shock. She entered her bedroom without putting on the light, and was commanded by a voice to "bo careful." The girl fled screaming from the room. Other members of the household were awakened by her screams, but she was too hysterical for some minutes to give an idea of what had happened. When she said there was an intruder in her room, the male members of the family went to the bedroom armed with a shot-gun, but they failed to find anybody. They searched tho house and grounds without result, but when reentering the house all wero alarmed to hear piercing screams coming from tho girl's bedroom. Again their investigations proved fruitless. The father then decided to lift tho window and look outside, and, to his surprise, was promptly told to "buy a beer." The cause of the excitement was found to be a Mexican parrot, which had perched on top of the window frame inside the curtains. The bird defied capture, and a neighbour, who owned it, had to be called from his bed to retrieve it.
