FAIRLY LISTLESS MARKET BANKS MORE ACTIVE (Received April 22, 8.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. April 22 Values were fairly steady in a rather listless investment market on the Sydney Stock Exchange to-day. Banks were more active. Commonwealth bonds were irregular. This morning's sales included:—Commonwealth bonds, 3 per cent, 1948, £9O 17s Gd; Tooth's Brewery, 52s 3d; Anthony Ilordern, 20s; Dunlop-Per-driau, 15s 3d; Henry Jones, 40s Gd. PROFIT OF £6920 IN 1935 The net profit of Amalgamated Zinc (de Bavay's) for 1935 was £6920, an improvement of £420 upon that of the previous year. A sum of £SOOO was brought into the accounts and to maintain the dividend of 5 jx>r cent £3082 was transferred from equalisation reserve. The dividend absorbs £IO,OOO and £SOOO is carried forward. GOLD AND SILVER QUOTATIONS IN LONDON (Received April 22, 7.05 p.m.) LONDON, April 21 Fine gold is quoted to-day at £7 0s 9Jd an oz., compared with £7 0s lOd yesterday. Silver is quoted at 20 9-16 d an oz. spot and forward, compared with 20} d both positions yesterday. The quotation for silver at per fine oz. is 22 3-16 d, compared with 22£ d yesterday.
