MOTORISTS PROSECUTED
TEACHER AND PUPIL DRIVING THE SAME CAR Two men, Albert Dean and Arthur T. Farrell were charged in the Magistrate's Court yesterday with dangerously driving the same motor-ear. The car, driven by Farrell, came down Upper Queen Street at 2.47 a.m. on February 27, said Senior-Sergeant Flanagan. A constable at the intersection of Wellesley Street signalled him to stop, but the car continued, although it later returned with Dean at tho wheel.
Mr. Bone, who appeared for the defendants, said Dean was teaching Farrell to drive. The car moved briskly across tho intersection of Wellesley Street because Farrell's foot had slipped from the brake to the accelerator. Farrell admitted tho charge, but Dean pleaded not guilty. However, the police considered Dean to be in charge of the car, as he was the holder of a licence and he had rented it.
The charge against Dean was dismissed and Farrell was lined £1 and costs.
