MOTOR-CYCLIST'S DEATH
INJURIES IN COLLISION [by telecraph—own correspondent] NEW PLYMOUTH. Tuesday Severe injuries, from which he died in hospital, were received by Mr. Harold Saunders, aged 44, a widower with six children, of Denbigh Poad, Hawera, in a collision at the intersection of Ohawe and South Poads late yesterday. Mr. Saunders, a carpenter, was riding his, motor-cycle from his work at Ohawe, and had completed the turn into South Poad when a collision qccuTred with a car travelling in the opposite direction. The impact mangled his right leg, causing a compound fracture, arid splintered the bones of his left leg. The driver of the car stopped. Mr. Saundeni was taken promptly to the Hawera Hospital by ambulance, and late last night his right leg was amputated. Ho suffered severely from shock and loss of blood, and, although a blood transfusion was made, little improvement was effected, and he died to-day.
