FRANKTON QUOTATIONS BRISK DEMAND FOR LAMBS PIG VALUES VERY FIRM * [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday Both fat wethers and' ewes were in good supply at the Frankton saleyards to-day. The quality of the wethers was not up to the standard of previous sales, and prices were barely equal to those of last week. Ewes sold on a par with recent quotations. There was a good yarding of lambs and the demand was brisk at improved schedule rates. An average entry of ox beef showed 110 alteration in values. Competition was good for an average yarding of cow and heifer beef, well-finished lines being firm at late rates. Boners were yarded in full numbers, the market showing a slight improvement on last week's sales. Runners and vealers were again in good supply and the market remained very firm. Buyers were offered a full yarding of fat pigs, all classes remaining very firm at late rates, with the exception of heavy baconers, which declined about Is a head on last week's values. PUTARURU REALISATIONS [from our owx correspondent} PUTARURU, Tuesday Late rates were well maintained in all sections at the stock sale conducted by Dalgety and Company, Limited, at Putaruru yesterday, when there was a good bench of buyers. There was a moderate entry of both fat and store pigs, which sold well under keen competition. A good yarding of all classes of sheep came forward and also met keen competition, practically the whole entry changing hands at prices well up to those obtained lately at other centres. A ready sale was found for a medium entry of breeding and s'tore sheep. CAMBRIDGE YARDING The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports that it held a stock sale at Cambridge on Monday, when a good yarding of cattle came forward. Cow and heifer beef comprised mostly mediumqualitv cattle, for which values were slightly easier. Boner cows and' potter bulls sold at late rates, there being no appreciable variation in values. The entry of forward-conditioned Shorthorn steers caused keen competition and sold well. A small entry of medium-quality dairy heifers was not keenly sought after, but late quotations were maintained. In the sheep section there was a small entry, comprising three pens of fat lambs. Competition was firm, and values were fully on a par with late rates. There was a full yarding of fat and store pigs. Competition was good for all fats, and values were firm at late rates. Stores and weaners were dull of sale, but vendors met the market, and most pens changed hands at ruling prices.
