OBITUARY
MR. WALLACE J.- MASSEY A member of the engineering firm of Massev Brothers, which was wqll known in Auckland over £0 years ago, Mr. Wallace John Massey, died yesterday at his home, 3 Sunnyvale Koad, Green Lane, at the ago of 82 years. Born in Manchester, he came to New Zealand with his mother in the ship Andrew Jackson in 1865, his father, tho late Mr. B. C. Massey, having arrived the year bc-fore. Mr.' Massey was an engineer in the Northern Steamship Company, and about 1900 lie and his two brothers commenced busit:.ess on tlieir own account in Auckland. The firm continued until 1913, when it was dissolved, and Mr. joined the staff of the Auckland Gas Company, Limited, retiring last year. A foundation member of the Ponsonby Druids, Mr. Massey-Avas also a member of tho Masonic Order. Mrs. Massey died in 1929. There are five daughters and three sons. MRS. A. DOW The death has occurred of Mrs. Mary Dow, wife of the late Mr. Andrew Dow, of Clevedon, at the age of /3. Mr*Dow's mother, Mrs. H. He came to land in 1884 with a brother, Mr. AK> e Warren, of Hamilton, and .two fister Mrs. G. M. Seales, of Mornnsv.lle, the late Mrs. A. Gant He farmed oral properties in the \\aikato for 30 years, after which in 1914, he chased the Patakanui Estate at M borough. He is survived by four and two daughters, all of the M borough district,
