HIGH WESTERLY WINDS CLOUDY, WITH SOME RAIN The weather report and forecast for New Zealand, issued last evening by the Government meteorologist, were as follows: —A series of rather intense westerly depressions continues to cross New Zealand. Pressure is high to the north, and an anti-cyclone covers the greater part of Australia, the centre being over the Great Australian Bight. The indications are for moderate to strong north-westerly to westerly winds, reaching gale force in places, and back'ing later in places to south-westerly. Seas in New Zealand waters will be rough on the west coast and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, and elsewhere moderate. SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST OCCASIONAL RAIN < The Government meteorologist issued to the Herald last evening the following special forecast for the Auckland Province:—Strong westerly winds, of gale force in places. The weather is likely to be changeable and squally, with occasional rain. Seas moderate in coastal waters on the east coast, otherwise rough.
