PLAY AT MERCURY BAY AUCKLAND PARTY'S VISIT [from our own correspondent] MERCURY BAY, Monday Twelve executive members of the Auckland Bowling Centre visited Mercury Bay on Saturday to play friendly games with members of the Mercury Bay Bowling Club. The weather was wet. and boisterous. Ihe Auckland players were welcomed by the president of the Mercury Bay Club. Mr. J. M. Forster, and by members. GALA AT WHITIORA [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT) HAMILTON, Monday There was a large attendance at the Whitiora Bowling Club's greens on Saturday, when a gala was held to assist the club's finances. The weather was showery. Excellent business was done at tho various stalls ,and keen interest was taken in the many competitions that wore arranged. HAMILTON CLUB'S SEASON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Monday The Hamilton Rowing Club closed its seaBon on Saturday, when a series of races was held. In the final of the Brown Cup single sculls handicap, J. Stuart (8s) defeated O Jackson (scr) by two lengths. Tho final of the trial fours event resulted in J. Stuart (str.), G Taylor, R. Rawlo and R. Stott, defeating ,T. Clongh (str.), J. Kane, B Searlo, and W. Walker, by threo feet. Monday Five teams from the Wluikatano Bowling Club visited Toneatua during the week-end, the occasion being the official closing of the greens for the season.
