POSITION OF EUROPEANS [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] HASTINGS. Saturday The advisability or otherwise of European and Maori children attending the same schools was discussed by members of the Hawke's Bay Education Board yesterday morning in consequence of a letter received from the Canterbury Education Board, stating that it desired information from all boards regarding their views on the question of the com-* pulsory attendance of white children at native schools. The Hawke's Bdy board came to the conclusion that it was impossible to set a policy for the whole of New Zealand until a set standard of living had been established. Tho letter was received.
