BURGLARY IN STORE
GOODS WORTH £350 OTOROHANGA SHOP ROBBED [from our own correspondent] OTOROHANGA. Sunday Goods to the value of £350 were stolen from the new branch store of the Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, at Otorohanga, during last night. The burglary was discovered at nine o'clock this morning, when several doors through which the intruders had evidently made their exit, were found open. Investigation showed that an entry had been made by the removal of a glass panel in the lavatory at the back of the store.
An inventory of the missing goods included a very large quantity of tobacco and cigarettes, 20 ladies' overcoats, 30 dozen ladies' silk stockings, 62 ladies' slips, 14 pairs of ladies' silk pyjamas, a silk dressing jacket, two men's overcoats, four bolts of serge suiting and seven suitcases.
Detective C. P. Belton and Constable P. Watts, of Hamilton, are co-operating with Constable G. Fry, of Otorohanga, in investigating the crime. Although no car is reported to be missing, it is believed that a car was used to remove tho goods from the locality.
