VALUES AT TE AWAMUTU SHEEP IN KEEN DEMAND RECORD ENTRY OF PIGS The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reporting on its stock sale at Te Awamutu last week, states that there was a good yarding of all classes of sheep, the entry including several pens of fat lambs. Competition was keen throughout, and a good sale resulted. There was a good yarding of fat and store catt'e. although no prime bullocks were penned, most of the entry comprising oecond quality beef and boncis. Prices were fully equal to recent quotations. There was a record entry of fat i>igs, it.being necessary to reyard at least 75. Competition was extra keen for baconers. Porkers sold well up to schedule rates. TE KUITI REALISATIONS [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT ] TE KUITI, Saturday Reporting on its stock sale at Te Kuiti, Abraham and Williams, Limited, states that there was a fair yarding of sheep, and also cattle, mostly of rough class, in excess of 'advertised numbers. There was a good market for sheep, which maintained late ruling rates. Cattle sold freely. Quotations: — Sheep: Ewe lambs made from 17s 6d to 19s &d; light fat lambs, 19s to 19s Gd; gcod finished lambs, to 21s; 86 fat and forward lambs, lGs to 16s 6d; small 6tore lambs, 12s Id to 14s Gd; fair-quality good breeding ewes, to 18s Gd. The yarding of cattle consisted mostly of light fat cows and boners, which' sold at late rates. MATAMATA RATES FIRM The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company. Limited, reports that there was a fiill entry of sheep, comprising mostly lambs, at its yale at Matamata last week. Competition generally was firm, and values for all classes were fully on a par with those ruling at other centres. There was a good yarding of all classes of cattle. Cow and heifer beef were penned in average numbers, the demand being firm. Late rates were fully maintained. Store cows and potentry of dairy cattle comprised mostly ter bulls sold readily at late rates. A small entry of dairy cattle comprised mostly medium quality cattle. These were not keenly sought after and values failed to reach vendors' reserves. In the pig section there was a small yarding of fats, for which competition was brisk. A total clearance was effected. The entry of stores and weaners was also small, and this was cleared at imoroved rates. HORSES IN DEMAND [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI. Saturday Dalgety and Company, Limited, reports that it had a yardinc of GO horses of all classes at its horso fair at Kamo to-day. All good young and sound drnughts sold under good competition. There was a good attendance, buyers coming from as far south as Auckland. The top price, £37 10s. was paid by Mr. R. Saunders, of Auckland, for a nice four-yenr-old medium gelding sold on account of Mr. C. H. Finlayson. of Aponga. A rising three-year-old grey gc-lding sold on account of Mr. M. J. O'Shea. of Whangarei, was bought by Mr. D. McD. Laing. of Pakotai, for £37. Other prices were:—Medium four and five-year-old geldings, £3G to £37 10s: other young medium geldings. £27 to £33 10s; seven and eight-year-old farm mares, medium weight. £23 to £27 10s; good sound farm sorts. £l7 to £2l 10s; lighter. £8 10s to £l4; good young hacks, £8 10s to £9 10s; others. £5 to £7; good ponies.- £2 10s to £5 ss; small. £1 to £1 15s. Saturday The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports having held a pig sale at 1 Edgecumbe. Approximately 600 pigs of all classes were yarded, practically the whole of which were sold under the hammer. A large number of buyers was in attendance and operated keenly throughout. A preponderance of baconers was yarded, the quality of many of the lines being good. Late rates were maintained in this section. The top prices for choice quality baconers was £3 3s. Owing to the supply exceeding the demand, and the shortage of milk, weaner and store pigs were easier in price, but -were quitted at prices which should bliow buyers who have the necessary feed, and at the present parity of prices, a good return.
