ESCAPING CHARGE
AUSTRALIAN IN COURT REMANDED TO FRIDAY Arrested by Detective Allsopp on the liner Mariposa on Friday night, Thomas William Wilson, aged 31, an Australian. appeared before Mr. Wyveru Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court on Saturday, charged that at Auckland on December 20, 1931, having been convicted of an offence, he escaped from lawful custody. Accused, who was not represented by counsel, did not plead. Senior-Detective Hall asked for a remand until Friday, which was granted.
