PAPATOETOE FIREMEN
TRIBUTES TO BRIGADE The annual reunion of tho Papatootoe Fire Brigade was held on Saturday evening, when the honours won by members during the year were presented. Mr. W. J. Nicholson, chairman of the Papatoetoe Town Board, who presided, paid a tribute to tho services rendered the community by volunteer firemen. He assured the brigade that the town board would solidly support the unit in its work. Complimentary references were also made by other speakers in the course of honouring a lengthy toast list. The following honours were presented: —Mawkes Cup and medal, for the brigade's one-man championship: Deputy-Superintendent A. C. Gulland. Five years' medal: Firemen J. Gilman and K. Pennell. two years' bar, Fireman P. Pennell (completing seven years' service): three vears' certificate. Fire in an W. Holes.
