R. GUNN WINS CHAMPIONSHIP [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Monday The Pukekohe Lawn Tennis Club's annual Easter tourney for the Franklin Association's championships was practically _ concluded to-day, only a few games remaining to be played to-morrow. The men's senior championship wns won by R. Gunn, of Auckland, who disposed of the opposition without real difficulty. The ladies' championship was taken by Mrs. Wright, of Aka Aka. Following are the results of to-day's play in the championships:— Men's Singles.—Third round: Morrin bent Mackie, 6—4, 2—6, 6—2; G. Willis beat J. Plant, 6—l, C—2. Semi-final: Lynn beat C. Morrin, 6—3, G—l; Gunn beat Willis, 6—l, 6—l. Final: Gunn beat Lynn, 6—2, 6—3. Men's Doubles.—First round: G. Willis and K. Clark beat T. Fausett and D. Blake, 6—o, &—3. Second round: Smith and Plant beat Wright and Potter, 5—6, 6—5, 6—3; Willis and Clark beat V. H. Wilson and W. Matheson, 6—2, 6—3; Mackic and Brighouse beat C. Morrin and I. Bayly, 3—6, (i—4. 6—4. Semi-final: Taylor and Lynn beat Smith and Plant, 6—l, 6—2.
Ladies' Singles.—Final: Mrs. Wright beat Miss Jeffries, 6—3, 6—4. Combined Doubles.—Second round: Lynn nnd Miss Jeffries won from Plant and Miss M. Kidd by default; A. Wright and Mrs. Wright bent Fausett and Miss Wilson, 6—3. 6—l, Bell and Miss Manning beat Willis and Miss A. Scott. *6 —4, 6 —-3. Semi-final: Taylor and Miss Scott beat Bell and Miss Manning, 6—3, o—4. Men's Junior Singles.—Semi-final: Bayly beat Potter, 6—2, 3—6. 6—4. Final: K. Clark bent Bayly, 6—4, 6—2. Following are the results of handicap events:—
Ladies' Singles.—Semi-final: Miss Jeffries beat Miss Sumner, 6—o, 6—2; Miss A. Scott beat Mrs. Hinton, 6—l, 6—2. Final: Miss Jeffries beat Miss Scott, 6—l, 6—l. Ladies' Doubles.—Semi-final: Misses Kayes and Manning beat Misses Scott and Wilson, 6—5, 6 —4: Miss Potter and Mrs. Wright beat Misses J. and M. Kidd, 3—6. 6—2, 6 —2.
