ALSATIAN DOGS
Sir, —In view of the fact that a big percentage of women and children go about in fear of Alsatian dogs, it would appear that owners must have an attachment to their pets that outweighs their sense of proportion. In order that opponents may gauge the measure of real hardship that would be inflicted by extermination of the breed, will some owner please tell exactly what particular satisfaction an Alsatian affords him that cannot equally well be supplied by a more "civilised" member of the canine world—a collie for instance. Pom.
