BOMBS BY POST

OUTRAGE IN AMERICA DEADLY "EASTER GIFTS" ONE RECIPIENT KILLED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received April 12, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. April 11 A message from Wilesbarre, Pennsylvania, states that six dynamite bombs, disguised as Easter gifts in packages, were delivered through the mails t:> six residents of the town in connection with one of the most widespread bombing plots of recent times.

Two of the infernal machines exploded, resulting in the death of one person and serious injury to three others. The remainder of the bombs were intercepted before the packages were opened. The peoplo to whom the bombs were addressed indicated that the sender was a disgruntled member of a Labour faction, probably demented. Each consisted of two sticks of dynamite placed in a cigar box containing a home-made, but cleverly-designed, device which ignited the explosives when the top of the box as opened. The victim who was killed was Mr. Michael Gallagher, aged 70, who was a school director and sexton of St. Mary's cemetery. It is thought likely that the bo nb which killed him was intended for another man named Gallaghor who is prominent in Labour Union circles:.

The second bomb exploded in tho hand of Mr. Thomas Maloney, who formerly wis president of the now defunct Coii.lminers' Union. He and two small children who were standing near him w<re critically injured. Tho other bombs were addressed to union officials and to the local sherifl and judge, all of whom figured prominently in recent litigation between rival unions.

A general warning has been broadcast to Labour leaders throughout the State to be on the look-out as it is feared other bombs may bo in the mails.
