CABINET'S POLICY CONSERVATIVES RESTIVE ASSURANCES WANTED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received April 10, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 9 The political correspondent of tho Morning Post states that many Conservatives are gravely dissatisfied with the Government's refusal to give satisfactory assurances regarding the future of mandated territories. No section of the House of Commons is willing to consent to the return to Germany of territories at present under British rule, and consider it would be a grave breach of faith to the inhabitants to hand them over to the mercies of the Nazis.
VIEW IN BERLIN RETURN OF TERRITORIES EXPECTATION BY PRESS LONDON, April 8 The Sun-Herald news service states that Mr. Neville Chamberlain's statement in the House of Commons regarding colonies has been hailed by the German press as proof of Britain's willingness to return the mandates. A message from Berlin "says that the London correspondent of Angriff writes: "Mr. Chamberlain's statement showg that the return of the mandates is a matter of the very near future. Britain has abandoned her earlier attitude, and it is clear now that the British publio will agree to the return of the mandates if not enthusiastically at least calmly." ;
