MISS BATTEN HONOURED
GOLD MEDAL FOR 1935 LEAVES FOR FLYING HOLIDAY (Received April 10, 6.45 p.m.) PARIS, April 9 Miss Jean Batten, the famous New Zeftland flier, has been awarded the Gold Medal for 1935 by tho French Academie des Sports in recognition of her South Atlantic flight in November, mo. Miss Batten will leave Hatfield tomorrow, 'accompanied by her mother, for a flying holiday in Spain and Morocco in her record-breaking aeroplane, from which two auxiliary tanks have been removed to provide space for a passenger.
