KING GEORGE'S PASSING
THE TIMES* CHRONICLE True to its function as a national institution,, the Times has published in book form, at a popular price, an admirable record from its own columns of tho last days, death and burial of King George V. The narrative covers 12 days, from January 17, when the King's illness was anounced, until January 28, when his body was laid to rest at Windsor. Interspersed in the moving description of State ceremonies and the Empire's mourning are the leading articles which the Times published from day to day. The book also contains verbatim reports of speeches made in tho House of Lords and by party leaders in the House of Commons, together with broadcast addresses by Mr. Stanley Baldwin and the Archbishop of Canterbury, the latter's sermon in Westminster Abbey and other tributes. Space is found for that paid by tho Prime Minister of Now Zealand, Mr. Savage. Queen Mary's message to the Empire is reproduced, and 24 pages are devoted to a brief biography of the late King. The book is liberally illustrated with excellent photographs, and in every way is a popular historical record of great value.
