primary championships CONTESTS AT THE DOMAIN SEVEN RECORDS LOWERED The high and improving standard of athletics ,in Auckland schools was demonstrated at the annual championship meeting of the Auckland Primary Schools' Athletic Association at the Domain on Thursday, when seven records were lowered and six equalled. Entries totalled 7206, and the resultant large fields, competing under perfect weather conditions, made the gathering one of the most successful since the sports were inaugurated 35 years ago. The senior boys' championship was won by Owairaka, with 116 points, Remuera being runner-up with 112 points, and Cornwall Park third with 1084 points. The junior boys' competition aho fell to Owairaka, • 721 points, Remuera, with 59 points being second, and Cornwall Park, 564 points third. In the girls' section the successful school was Otahuhu, which, with the large total of 129 points, defeated Cornwall Park by 44 points, and Owairaka by 60 points. New records were established as follows: Boys' events: 50yds. under 9, D. Brain, 6 4-si; 100 yds, under 14, D. E. Carew, 11 2-ss; long jump, junior, J. Necsham, 15ft Sin; high jump, senior, D.
