TOURNAMENT AT HIKURANGI [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANG-AREI, Friday The annual tournament of the Hikuranci Bowling Club, which commenced to-day. was reminiscent of several years ago when the club's annual fixture was considered one of the outstanding tournaments of Auckland. During recent years the club has suifered considerably through the depression and the tournament suffered accordingly, .today the capacity of the greens was wholly occupied and they were in splendid condition. Teams from the following other clubs took part:—Maungaturoto. Dar&avjlle, Portland, Kensington, Whangarei. A few light showers fell during the morning, the afternoon being fine and sunny for the most part. . , , Mr. A. Sankey, president of the club, welcomed the visitors. The tournament is being conducted in two sections, three rounds being played to-day. at the conclusion of which only one team, Tibbits, of Kensington, went through without a loss.
