NEW WHANGAREI CLUB [fr"om our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Friday The Whangarei Hockey Association will' bare'a new team in its A grade competition this year ae the result of the renaissance of the old Hukerenui Club, which has not functioned for three years. At a meeting held this week it was decided that the new club bo called "Hukerpara." It will include ad members Miss Mary Cotter, a member of the New Zealand team which toured Australia last year, and Misses _T. M. Hutchins. both of whom were_ included in the Auckland team in the New Zealand championship tournament at Gisborne last year. The* team will be coached by the New Zealand representative, Mr. Max Bay. The following officers were elected:—President,, Mr. A. Gardner; secretary, Miss 1. Hutchins; delegates to Whangarei Hockey Association, Messrs Gardner and Hutchins. The area covered by the club will be the Hukerenui and Whakapara districts. . HAIRINI LADIES' CLUB [BY ./TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE AWAMUTU, Friday The annual meeting of the Hairini Ladies' Hockey Club was presided over by Mr. E. A. Spiers. The report showed that the past season had been successful and the outlook for the ensuing year was encouraging. It was decided to enter a team in the competitions and to affiliate with the Waipa Ladies' Hockey Association. The following officeis were elected:— Patron, Mrs. Geo. Hall; president. Mr. A. T. Cooper; vice-presidents. Mr. H. I'. Spiers and Mrs. J. Wilson; secretary and treasurer. Mrs. E. A. Spiers; committee. Misses J. Bryant. R. Pattie, E. Hall, Z. ppiers, B. Cavanagh and Mesdames E. A. 6piers and W. Pattie.
