PUBLIC SCHOOL BOYS
I ENGLISH PARTY'S VISIT The representatives of 15 English public schools, who have made a brief tour of the North Island after completing a visit to Australia, were entertained to afternoon tea by members of the Cabinet in Parliament Buildings, Wellington, this week, the Hon. P. Eraser. Minister of Education representing the Prime Minister, who was engaged in Parliamentary business. Representatives of educational bodies in Wellington, including two pupils from each of the secondary schools, were invited to meet the young Englishmen, and there was a very pleasant exchange of greetings, in which a number of members of the House took part.
Mr. H. D. Hake, who is in charge of the party of 23. stated in his acknowledgments that although the visit had been short they had experienced wonderful hospitality, and had found that New Zealanders were extremely friendly. The party's tour was really through Australia, and the next organised tour would be to Canada, followed shortly afterward by the organisation of another party to visit New Zealand. The visitors left for England on the Rangitata.
