TENNIS MISHAP
[by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] WHANGAREI, Friday During the progress of the North Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's annual tournament, being played on the Whangarei Club's, courts. R. S. Finch, the Whangarei club champion, who was partnered by C. Waymouth in the championship doubles, was momentarily dazzled by the sun when attempting to smash a high ball and the ball struck and broke his spectacles. Mr. Finch received cuts to the cheek from the broken glass, but fortunately his eyes were not injured.
